Crampton Tower Museum

A museum featuring the works of Broadstairs-born engineer Thomas Russell Crampton. The attraction includes working model railways in a variety of scales and other child friendly interactive activities.

A miniature train ride is available at a small charge (weather permitting).

The Museum is open between 2pm and 5pm with the last entry at 4:30pm.

Model railway layouts belonging to the Isle of Thanet Model Railway Society will be set up in the Hall at the Museum over the Kent Big Weekend out - admission free, but donations welcome.

There will also stalls selling a selection of models and railway magazines.

Each ticket is valid for entrance to the Crampton Tower Museum for two people. The Museum has four buildings. The Tower is on three floors and covers the work of the 19th-century civil engineer, Thomas Crampton. The Museum Workshop houses the Broadstairs Stagecoach,working model railway layouts,and interactive facilities for children. Other exhibits and displays are housed in a Beehive building and large exhibition hall which also serves as a gallery. Finally,outside, a five-inch model railway offers rides for children weather permitting.
