Minster Abbey Gatehouse Museum

Minster Abbey Gatehouse Museum houses a wide range of exhibits including fossils, Roman coins, radios, wartime relics, Victorian costumes, local paintings, and photographs, all set within the distinctive 1000 year old Gatehouse building.

Outstanding views can be experienced from the battlements that are 200 feet above sea level. 

Exhibits and features include:

  • 50 million year old fossil
  • artifacts from WW2
  • history of Sheppey time line painted on 1200 year old staircase
  • views of the Island from the roof top of the Gatehouse 
  • lots of old maps 
  • historic radios 

Disabled toilet and wheelchair access to ground floor.
